Lay-over day in Paducah. Lots of history here. Oil change day - got it done but more work than it should have been. We really got bounced around on the river side of the dock until after 11 PM last night. Shifted to the inside of the dock this morning - seems smoother already. Fair amount of rain today but I don't think enough to raise the river.

Almost 1000 foot long 15 pack barge tow - the wake from these guys makes the river side of the dock rock.

The top of the dock poles is 50+ feet off the water to allow the whole dock, gas, water electric and everything float up with the water when it floods.

Strange looking but ingenious system for flood mitigation.

Paducah murals are on the city side of their flood wall.

Barge loading loaded end almost under water non-loaded end out of the water.

Their murals tell the history of the city. Off to the Cumberland River in the morning - Barkley lock and then Green Turtle Bay Marina for a couple of days of R & R.
