We were up early to get through the Lagrange Lock and past a huge dredge. Dogs got walked on the opposite shore of river with a dinghy ride each way - easier than the vertical steel grate stairs. Beautiful cruise down the last section of the Illinois River into Grafton. Alligator and crawfish cheesecake, grilled oysters and crawfish enchiladas for dinner. Oyster bar at the marina overlooks the river.
Early morning dog walk.

Huge dredge swung out of the way to let us by.

Pipe looked about 3 feet in diameter.

The Brent Ice has been pushing 15 barges and we have played cat and mouse with her for the last 4 days.

The barges draft 9 feet of water when fully loaded.

Cabins are built on stilts for the flooding.

Illinois river water looks different than the Great Lakes.

Very calm cruising today.

Grafton marina with mostly covered slips.

Oyster Bar band.

Sunset over the confluence of the Illinois and the Mississippi.
