Moved into North Carolina today on the AICW.

We got an early start and had a great easy cruise going for about 45 miles and then hit residential area and were no wake to 10 mph for the next 35+ miles - not our default speed. Potentiometer gremlin jumped on board in a crowded section but we held up Ok. I was able to recalibrate the potentiometer again so hopefully we are good for a while. The vaunted "Rock Pile" section was a yawner compared to the Kongakut, Crash Corner or Hell Gate. Tied off at the public transient dock in Holden Beach, NC.
Beautiful sunrise in Georgetown this morning.

State record - 881# caught out of Georgetown 2005.

Waccawaw river - looked like good sasquatch habitat.

Osprey nests on many day markers.

We pushed into a strong current all morning and some of the trees and moss were pretty cool.

It was a very pleasant first 40+ miles with few boats, little to no human activity.

Narrow and protected.

Swing bridges every now and then. Open on demand and are pretty efficient.

The vaunted rock pile was a non-issue.

Narrow and you could see where they had blasted the channel through the rock.

On both sides of the AICW.

Ditto.

Not sure why they had a lighthouse on the ICW but  it is in good repair.

Many areas with nice new homes but must have 5-8 foot setbacks.

The last 35 miles was constant homes and docks. Also a lot of golf courses - looked like tee box plus landing area plus green - essentially zero fairways.

Canals and homes with long docks.

They pack them in as tight as they can and still get a boat in the water.

Our Nebo track today. Tomorrow we have a shorter day and hope to catch up with the resistor for the Gennygator.
