We cruised out of Hessel this morning in calm seas and clear sky's.
Rounding Mackinac Island and passing under the bridge was impressive with high speed ferry and the Stewart J Cort joining us on our transition into Lake Michigan. As soon as we rounded the corner and headed South we had to back off the throttle and bounce through some rough seas for 2 hours. We hadn't made marina reservations for the weekend and it is crazy busy here compared to the Big Pond. We figured we were on the hook for the next 2 nights and dinghy to shore with the dogs - but by the Grace of God - Petoskey City marina called with a beautiful slip for us for Saturday and Sunday!!! Zero gremlins today!! We hope and pray the Volvo tech can clear the gremlins on Monday. Enjoy every day!
Guard dogs on alert.

Trixie finds it interesting, you passed under the bridge and we drove over it today.
We are spending the night in Escanaba. I'm going to show her where my mother was born in the morning. Her birthplace and early life is located just south of Escanaba where the Ford River confuences into Lake Michigan, on the north side of the mouth! We will see if we can walk the beach where she romped as a child!
Thanks again for including us on the first leg of this adventure!
John & Trixie, God bless your journey!
