Pretty goo day on the Illinois River today - windy, 2 locks and a lot of recreational boat traffic. Once the engines are started the dogs want to be on the bridge. Dogs don't particularly like locks. We are in Starved Rock marina for the night - older with rickety docks but still  water - very shallow and lots of muck but it is home for the night.

When they put a tug next to you in the lock the prop wash makes it hard to hold your position.

Harborside marina had a lot of small floating cabins with individual boat slips.

Nice spot to walk dogs.

View looking down river.

Barge getting loaded - lots of weight to balance out.

Floating bollards are the rule in the river.

Starved Rock area with either limestone or sandstone cliffs.
Nice sunset from the bow sunpad.
