Through the Soo lock today and back into Lake Superior

Rain and double digit winds 8/25 so we decided to stay a second night at George Kemp marina. Toured the Valley Camp museum and reprovisioned.
The Valley Camp is an old steamship turned into a museum.

One of the cargo holds is dressed up nicely.

These lens are used in the lighthouses

Very bright beehive.

One of the first 1000 footers.

The 13 1000 footers and the Valley Camp on the left end for comparison - 569 feet long.

New lock to be built over the next 8 years.

Back into home waters today.

We are 600 feet up from when we left New York

Lots of Fitzgerald information and relics

One of the Fitzgerald life boats

Built the year I was born and sank the year I graduated high school.

SHowing the depths of the Lakes and the rise from sea level

The Ark as seen from the Valley Camp

Amazing gravity lifting.

I didn’t realize the Fitz was built the year you were born and sunk the year you graduated! Neat museum. Excited to see you soon!
